Review: I actually bought these pistachios by accident. They were nestled among the tubes of peanuts (probably thrown back carelessly by an indecisive customer), and I didn’t realize this until I was dragging my feet back to work and popped the corner open on the bag of nuts. I like pistachios, mind you, but I don’t buy them often because of the manual labor involved in consuming them. Crack, tip, scrape, chew swallow, throw out shells, repeat. And sometimes you get those pistachios that don’t have a crack in the shell already so you spend a few seconds biting down on the shelled nut with your teeth, inevitably hurting a tooth or cutting a gum. I also don’t usually buy prepackaged nuts that are any more exotic than peanuts or cashews. Case in point, though these pistachios were salted, every one nut in five seemed to be shrivelled and extremely tough to chew. I ended up throwing a good portion of these nuts out. I hope I never make the mistake of buying Planters pistachios again. That’ll learn me to look before I buy.
