Review: I was going to limit myself to one trip to Joy Yee a week, but when the peer pressure of your co-workers ordering and walking down the street to pick up a delicious meal for you hits, it is hard to say no.
Joy Yee’s Thai Green Curry is actually not as spicy as I would have liked it to be. The chicken is tender and moist, the green beans and bamboo shoots are fresh and crunchy and the rice is sticky and easy to mix into the curry sauce (which is a bit on the beige side rather than green, btw). The curry itself has a biting peppery flavor that is incredible, but the lingering spiciness doesn’t linger as long or as prominently as I would have liked it to.
With the miso soup that comes with this lunch combo, Joy Yee’s Thai Green Curry Chicken dish is a filling and tasty lunch, but since I am one who enjoys having my mouth roof burn when I order curry, I may have to blacklist their curry dishes altogether and stick to the Basil Chicken Fried Rice.
