Review: I’ll be honest, when I first heard of the mixture of hummus and horseradish, I didn’t think much of it. There are so many flavor infusions on the market now days, that I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw apple and green bean dip on a fully dressed endcap. Sometimes it seems as if food companies are so obsessed with mashing flavors like a beginner house DJ, that there is no respect left for complimentary flavors. I’m sure some great things can come from this strategy, but I don’t want someone who used to delight in mixing all of the flavors at the self-service soda fountain in charge of making food products.
Regardless of which method was used to come up with this mixture, the sharp fragrant punch of horseradish and the chunky-smooth consistency of ground chickpeas makes for a fantastic spread for chips, pita or even a bagel. In typical Trader Joe’s style, the price is right for this tub as well.
