Review: I love ‘em. Those fuzzy green drinks that resemble pureed moss or a collection of juice-bar wheat grass shots in a bottle. They may look disgusting, but they taste amazing and tend to pack an energizing punch that is much stronger than your daily coffee or vitamin.
I used to drink Odwalla’s Superfood drink until I discovered that the “socially responsible” company was found to be guilty of covering up strains on their safety controls, which resulted in a strain of E-Coli showing up in bottles of their apple juice. Shit happens, but you gotta own up to it.
On a more immediate basis, Odwalla charges upwards of $3+ for a bottle of their drink, while Trader Joe’s tasty green moss juice is only $2.00.
Though it does taste a bit chalky if you don’t shake it up enough, TJ’s Green Juice has a mild fruit cocktail flavor with less acidity than most other drinks of its kind. It is made up of several different fruit purees and does, in fact, contain wheat grass, but the most prominent flavor is the apple and pineapple juice, making this a perfect drink for breakfast, lunch, the beach or any time you need a sweet and healthy pick me up.
