From the Daddy, What’s a “Record Industry” department:
Reviews from my exile to the suburbs later, but while I’m on my lunch break, but for now a bit of music news.
Whether you like the band or not, you gotta respect them for forging the way for other bands.
Radiohead is selling their next album as downloadable mp3s for the low low price of… Whatever you want to give them. That’s right! You set the price.
This is exciting on so many levels.
Does anyone else hear the gurgling gasps of the record industry?

Wilco did it 6 years ago with ‘YHF’. Granted, theyre not the Mechagodzilla sized behemoth that is Radiohead, but the “industry” is still around. Someones gotta put up billboards ads, buy montage space on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘CSI’ and pay for radio play. The bands sure dont want to do it, theyre too busy scoring dance routines on antiquated instruments. Snideness aside, I think its a great idea.
