Review: If you saw the spiderweb cracked and cloudy pathetic excuse for a measuring cup I’ve been using to make sure my liquids are adequate, you probably would have given me one of these as an anyday gift. Seriously, that old thing is about three and a half measurings away from leaking water like Daffy Duck after he just got shot by Elmer Fudd.

While buying a gift at Northwestern Cutlery, I couldn’t help but buy myself a little something. That store is like pornography to me, and who wants to look at their pornography in public? No, you have to take it home with you and spend some quality time with it. That’s what cooking stores are like for me. Pathetic, I know, but it’s the simple pleasures that matter, eh?

Oxo’s angled measuring cup is like trading in a Ford Tempo with it’s third failing transmission and a mismatched junk yard door in for a brand new Audi to me. I no longer have to squint to make out level marks or break my back bending over until my nose is level with the quarter cup mark in order to tell where my levels are at. I simply tilt my head casually like John Cusack checking out a hottie across the ski hill, nonchalantly pour any desired liquid until it reaches the convenient angled measure marks, flip my sunglasses back down onto my nose and go about my business mixing.

And that’s not all!

No longer do my oil-covered cook’s hands run me the risk of dropping my liquids all over the kitchen. With Oxo’s patented (i think… er… whatever… it’s what all of the infomercial guys say) cushioned ergonomic grip handles, my measuring cup stays where it needs to. Plus, with three different sets of measuring marks (cup, ounce & milliliter), I can achieve deliciousness with recipes from almost anywhere… even from those crazy French.

To recap. Look down instead of contort. Hold tight instead of dropping your wetness. Measure in three different culinary languages.
