Review: The last addition to my kitchen table fruit bowl of fruit staples! Pears.
These pears, which are regularly available at Trader Joe’s, were slightly sweet, somewhat on the firm side (how I like them) and held up the longest of all the fresh fruit in my kitchen. My roommate commented that they seemed to be a bit under-ripe, but I rather like the firm and tart characteristics they possess. Like biting into an apple, these D’Anjous gave a satisfying crunch and held a full and fresh body in the mouth while chewing. Quite worth the purchase, I’ll be lugging a bag of these puppies pears home on a weekly basis during the winter, while fruit options at the farmers market are slim.
