Review: I usually trust Trader Joe’s to offer me not only something a little bit different and a little bit less expensive than the usual supermarket fare, but also something tasty and of a higher quality than something you can find in your local convenience store freezer. Trust is something that has to be earned, of course, and it has been by good ol’ Joe. In this case, however, he let me down.
These burritos taste like any other beef and bean burrito I’ve found in any freezer section. They also sit in my stomach and make me feel like a child who’s eaten sand like other freezer fare. The only difference I noticed is that they are a bit bigger than most cellophane wrapped dorm food. The beef is gummy and rubbery. The beans taste canned and paste-like. The tortillas are your standard mushy flour mess in their post-nuked state. Pass on these. Pass like it’s 4th and 30 and you have no other choice. (Does that make sense? I’m not really a sports guy.)
Don’t worry, Joe! We’re not breaking up. Everyone makes mistakes.
